Cartoons’Life was first conceptualized by Elettra Dafne Infante who wrote and made, as the sole author and director, a documentary with the same title. Contacted by Tunué while shooting, the project was transformed into a box set with the addition of a book written together with Fabio Bartoli.
Cartoons’ Life offers an Excursus on the technical, historical and artistic evolution of animated cinema through interviews with animators, producers, composers and voice actors.
From the Magic Lantern to the first cameras, from Méliès‘ A Trip to the Moon, to the job with acetates and computers, up to Winx and Pixar. The origins of cartoons and the differences between Italian, American and Japanese animation. Supergulp, children’s TV, television theme songs and the great RCA, dubbing, and the importance that music has in cartoons too. A tribute to the world of animation and comics, which recently passed its first hundred years, through the eyes (and memories) of its protagonists.
