I always think of myself as a dancer and writer. In these years directing has become an important part of my life, but it was with artistic gymnastics that I started at the age of five, and with the great irreplaceable love of my life, ballet and, soon after, writing. I started by participating in the drafting of the newspaper in elementary school 📰 😊 and during the same period I also started acting in school plays. I began to study ballet with teacher Wilma Valentino and after a few months I entered the National Dance Academy in Rome, where I remained for three years and where I also attended middle school. My professional debut was at the age of twelve at the Olympic Theater in Rome with “Undine” after having an audition for the German Philharmonic Company; since then I have performed and shot commercials until I moved to United States to study at the Alvin Ailey Dance Center and Step Studio in New York, and to Los Angeles later, making a dream come true. I have always been passionate about cinema and black and white films, I love directors like Howard Hawks, John Hughes, Lubitsch, Fritz Lang, Argento, Wes Craven, Ron Howard and Cuaron (and believe me, I left out quite a few…). Among my teachers, international choreographers such as Jaime Rogers (Fame tv series), and Coleen Walsh (Grammy Awards). In addition to ballet, I also studied Lyrical Jazz and Funky. After a few years (too soon!) I decided to go behind the scenes and so, despite having a diploma, I enrolled in film school Roberto Rossellini until the recent Masterclasses in directing with Ron Howard and screenwriting with Shonda Rhimes, a true gift. I know, I’ve been in the business for more than thirty years, but this job still makes my heart beat.
From 1996 to today I have worked on sets and in post-production as a translator, voice actress, assistant and first a. d., director, continuity and author for cinema, advertising, radio, dubbing, television and theatre, for International and independent productions: Rai, Columbia Pic.-Tri Star, Paramount, Filmmaster, Viacom, Sky, Cannes Festival, etc. My television experiences include live and post-production programs. Among them: two Eurovision Song Contest (Måneskin, Turin 2022 and Gabbani, Kiev 2017 ), The 57th Sanremo Music Festival (w/ Pippo Baudo), Speciali Super Quark with Piero Angela: (#9) documentaries of two hours each (shooting and post-production) with graphic reconstructions, virtual sets, films and archive images shot in Italy, Japan and Istanbul. Moreover, Breakfast Tv (Uno Mattina, several editions) Day Time (#4 Domenica In w/Venier-Baudo), Prime Time (Nemo, 50 Canzonissime w/C. Conti, May 1st Concert, #5 Telethon w/F. Frizzi, Strictly come Dancing – italian version – The Greats of Italian Literature (#20 documentaries – for Corriere della Sera and Rai 5) Visionaries and Secret Towns –Paris w/Corrado Augias, Voyager – seasons 3,4,5 and The Sound of Beauty Rai 1, a 30-minute behind-the-scenes of the Eurovision Song Contest, wrote and directed.
Edgar Allan Poe, A Man’s Tale
Original work inspired by some of Poe’s verses. On stage and on tour since 2012
” O sweet and deceptive shame that with your candor you have bewitched me, now humbly show what you carry in your womb, reveal to the world that pact with nature of which you are the creator and accomplice and which has thrown you into this uncomfortable position. Who…who dares to take my place inside your body? Who is moving now inside you, managing to see parts that I didn’t see, to get to where I can’t. To know and go up streams that I never had to know. Who.. Who will know you better than me who even in all the most perverse and secret ways I had you but who I could never reach so deep.. Who.. managed to feel what I will never be able to have. Who could have you in a way that is impossible for me to emulate. Who… is merging with your breath, weakening the memory of me, which I will never be able to compete with..“

The Sound of Beauty – A journey Behind the Scenes. Personally, I love thinking about The Sound of Beauty not only as a journey behind the scenes of the Eurovision Song Contest but also as a journey around the world, maybe multiple worlds, as many as the different artistic, professional and non-professional aspects explored in its thirty minutes. Shot over a month and a half and began when the performers had not arrived yet and the set design was “only” a project on paper, this special would like to offer a complete vision of this event, from the construction of the stage to the final evening. Above all, among artists, countries, cultures and traditions very different from one and other, this event is first of all a wonderful human experience as well as singing, which makes it unique in its kind. All through interviews with directors, sound engineers, directors of photography, conductors, costume designers, make-up artists and insiders who explain what their role consists of while high quality images reveal how a television shot is set up. Thanks for watching! Elettra
